The design of the Pioneer SP-SB23W may be a little to be desired. The soundbar tends to be a bit on the bulky side compared to other models. It sits slightly taller at 4″ and could block the remote sensor of your TV. Before purchasing take a look at your setup to see if this will be a problem. If your setup is by having your TV mounted to the wall then this will not be an issue as you can have the soundbar on a stand under your TV or even mounted to the wall as well. On the bright side of the Pioneer SP-SB23 sounbar’s design it that they used a wooden cabinet rather than plastic as all others. The wooden cabinet produces a much truer resonance for higher sound quality over a plastic cabinet.
Opposite of the sounbar, the subwoofer is actually one of the smallest we have seen. Great for those who prefer to hide the subwoofer out of sight. With its wireless connectivity you can place the sub wherever an electrical outlet is available. Even behind your couch or the back of the room if you prefer.
Connectivity to the system can be done by either a single RCA audio input or an optical input. Simple enough to just hook up to your TV’s audio out. This of course limits the number of components to the number of audio inputs on your TV. You also have Bluetooth connectivity with the Pioneer SP-SB23W thus allowing you to stream all your favorite music from your portable devices.
In conclusion. If you’re looking for an upgrade to your TV’s boring built in speakers at a great price and best sound, then the Pioneer SP-SB23W Soundbar System is just for you.
